Tonight, the Portuguese national final for the 2009 Eurovision Song Contest will be held. Twelve acts will compete for the ticket to Moscow in the Festival da canção.

The show

The show to be broadcast at RTP1 will start at 22:25 CET and it will be hosted by Sílvia Alberto at the Teatro Camões in Lisbon. Twelve acts will present one song each and the winner will be chosen by televoting and regional juries.

In 2008, Portugal was represented by Vânia Fernandes, who finished second in the second semi final and 13th in final with her entry Senhora do mar. In 2009, the country will enter the first semi final on 12th May.
