NRK, the Norwegian national broadcaster has revealed the names of the 10 lucky hopefuls who will battle for the golden ticket to Stockholm at the forthcoming 2016 Norwegian Eurovision national final, MGP.

A total of 10 acts will battle for the right to represent Norway at the 2016 Eurovision Song Contest at the Norwegian Eurovision final- Melodi Grand Prix 2016, scheduled to be held on 27 February at the Oslo Spektrum, in Oslo, Norway. You can listen to the snippets of the songs here.

The candidates

  • Agnete Johnsen – Icebreaker
  • Elouiz – History
  • Freddy Kala s- Happy Rush
  • Laila Samuels – Afterglow
  • Makeda – Stand U
  • Pegasus – Anyway
  • Stage Dolls – Into the fire
  • Stine Ulla – Traces
  • Suite 16 – Anna Lee
  • The Hungry Hearts feat. Lisa Dillan – Laika 

The show will be hosted by Silya Nymoen and Kåre Magnus Bergh and will be aired live on NRK 1.

Norway debuted at the Eurovision Song Contest in 1960 and has won the event thrice in 1985, 1995 and in 2009. The 2016 Eurovision Song Contest is scheduled to be held on 10, 12 and 14 May at the Globen Arena in Stockholm, Sweden.
