#wow, it’s official: Malta’s Ira Losco will sing Walk on water at the 2016 Eurovision Song Contest!

Walk on water will be presented as part of TVM’s news broadcast at 20:00 CET on Thursday, 17 March.  Watch Maltese broadcasting network TVM (Televixin Malta) via tvm.com.mtIra Losco is also confirmed to be appearing on the Xarabank show on Friday 18 March.

With victory at the Maltese national selection in January, Ira Losco secured her ticket to Stockholm 2016.  Speculation grew in February that Ira would not be singing Chameleon (the song with which she won the national selection) in Stockholm, but a different song.

Walk on water was selected following votes from both international and Maltese juries during February and March.  Nine new songs (plus Chameleon) were put to juries in thirteen European countries and a panel of music experts from Malta, with Walk on water emerging as the standout.

The video for Walk on water was filmed last week, and promises to be a truly picturesque affair:

I have been a Eurovision fan since childhood - I remember being so fascinated by the scoreboard! I loved the different flags and languages. My favourite national final is Eesti Laul, though I enjoy watching every one! Eurovision has given me so much in my life and it is a pleasure to write about my favourite contest for ESC Today.
