Markus Riva, MyRadiantU, Marta Ritova and Samanta Tina have all qualified for the Supernova 2016 semi-final in Latvia.

Tonight, the second heat of the Latvian national final took place with the remaining ten entries being performed live for the first time.

Amongst this evenings entrants was last years Supernova finalist Markus Riva, and multi-time Latvian national final entrant Samanta Tina, whose song We live for love missed out in the first heat last week.

Markus Riva and MyRadiantU qualified with the public vote, whilst Marta Ritova and Samanta Tina were the jury’s pick to advance to the semi-final.

Tonights qualifiers will join Justs, Catalepsia, Marta Grigale and Ivo Grīsninš Grīslis in the semi-final, after they progressed from the first heat.

Next weeks semi-final will follow the same format as the heats. Two acts will be chosen in the public round of voting whilst two more acts will be chosen by the jury.

Those four acts will battle it out to represent Latvia at the Eurovision Song Contest 2016.

This year, the Supernova 2016 jury includes Intars Busulis, who represented Latvia at the Eurovision Song Contest in 2009.
Also on the jury is Brainstorm drummer, Kaspars Roga, Ieva Kerēvica and Guntars Račs.
