The grand final of the 54th edition of Festivali i Kënges, the Albanian national final, will take place as the first song for the Eurovision Song Contest 2016 is selected.

After 30 performances across two semi-finals, 22 acts will be chosen to take part in the Albanian festival of song.

Pandi Laço, Gresa Pallaska and Blerta Tafani will be our hosts for the final, which will be broadcast from the Palate i Kongreseve in the Albanian capital, Tirana.

The 22 acts will all perform during the final with the winner being chosen by a jury consisting of music experts.

Last year, Elhaida Dani won Festivali i Kënges with her song Diell. After a decision to change her song for the Eurovision Song Contest earlier this year, she performed I’m alive in Vienna.

After making it through the semi-final she placed 17th with 34 points in the grand final.
