A new song by Tose Proeski, the Macedonian representative at the Eurovision Song Contest 2004, has been released.

The song, titled Efta purane ikone, was premiered at a festival held in Skopje, the Macedonian capital, last week.

A video featuring clips of the singer has been released alongside the single.

Efta purane ikone comes almost exactly nine years since the singer’s death in 2007.

This is the first song by Tose to be released since Sve je ova prmale za kraj was found in 2013.

Tose passed away at the age of 26 after being involved in a car crash in Croatia.

The singer was one of the biggest stars in the Balkans at the time of his death and his passing drew numerous tributes from other major stars from across the region and saw a day of mourning declared in FYR Macedonia

Tose Proeski’s first and only involvement with the Eurovision Song Contest came in 2004 when he represented his home country in Istanbul.

After making it through the semi-final with his song Life, he went on to achieve a 14th place finish in the final, which at the time was the country’s best result in the contest.
