RTS, the Serbian national broadcaster has confirmed to ESCToday that Serbia will participate at the forthcoming 2016 Eurovision Song Contest.

Serbia is the 39th  country to confirm its participation at the 2016 Eurovision Song Contest, scheduled to be held on 10, 12 and 14 May at the Globe Arena in Stockholm, Sweden.

The method and mechanism RTS will use to select its Eurovision entry is yet to be determined.

So far 39 countries have confirmed their intention to participate at the forthcoming 2016 Eurovision Song Contest scheduled to be held on 10, 12 , 14 May at the Ericsson Globe Arena in Stockholm, Sweden. The official and final list of the 2016 Eurovision Song Contest participating countries is expected to be released by the EBU by the end of December/ early January.

In 2015 Serbia selected its Eurovision act and entry via a national final consisting of 3 acts. Bojana won the 2015 Serbian Eurovision national final with her entry Beauty never lies and went on to fly the Serbian flag at the 2015 Eurovision Song Contest in Vienna. After an energetic performance at the grand final Bojana placed 10th.

Serbia debuted at the Eurovision Song Contest in 2007 and won the competition the same year with Marija Serifovic‘s Molitva.
