Greece: Two songs leak on internet

Two of the three songs that were to be presented at a press conference by Greek national broadcaster, ERT on Wednesday of this week have leaked on the internet. The songs are the national final entries from Kalomoira and Kostas Martakis. They were leaked on a Eurovision message board this morning and the links were quickly picked up by a Greek website.

The songs were leaked via a filesharing site that is often used to 'share' music and the links were published on a Eurovision messageboard and the greek website. This is in fact illegal and allows people to download music for free. It damages the singers and record companies and is something that esctoday.com does not support. For this reason, we are unable to publish the links and ask readers not to post them in the reactions section.

esctoday.com has contacted ERT with all the information that we have uncovered regarding the sourceof the leak and information relating to the Greek final. We expect that a statement will be made tomorrow although it is unlikely that any action will be taken against the leaked songs. It is highly unlikely that the two leaked songs will be disqualified. In the overall scheme of things, no clear advantage has been created and the competition will still be fair.

esctoday.com will continue to cover this story.
