United Kingdom: Local media focus on Eurovision

As the Eurovision Song Contest gets closer and closer the UK media write more and more about it. The latest article is in The Mirror, one of the major news papers in the United Kingdom and it’s banner headline starts with Strewth!

Nicola Methven writes on The Mirror article that the song from former Australian Idol winner Guy Sebastian is currently third favourite and gathering momentum fast. She goes on to explain the details of why the Australian singer is participating this year and that he is currently in the bookie’s 3rd place with Italy and Sweden being in front.

An Aussie triumph with Tonight Again in Vienna next month could be Britain’s best chance of staging the Eurovision on home soil next year – because a “neutral” venue within Europe would be chosen as host. Any hopes for a UK victory from Electro Velvet have dwindled – the duo’s odds of triumph are running at over 100/1, with experts predicting the song, Still in love with you, is more likely to come in the bottom 10 than the top 10 on the night of May 23.

No matter what, the contest is getting closer and closer and the excitement is rising in the United Kingdom! This year, Electro Velvet will represent the country with the song Still in love with you.
