We go straight to the first song!

1. AnorahLaying down my cards

Anorah is from Sweden. When she was asked, why she takes part in the selection she said that she competes because she got invited and because she likes Demark and Danish language better. Her song is in a rockish style, very professional and could be a hit on the charts. The performance is very professional too and works well with the song, even if it is not very spectacular (the customary wind machine is a bit over-the-top, but some Eurovision fans might like it).

2. Sidse HolteVi er der om lidt

About her participation, Sidse said: "It is my biggest dream to come to ESC because the audience is so dedicated and I would love the experience." She performs a ballad in Danish and it is in Danish style of music. Clothings and the performance are very simple which suits the song well but might not stand out in the Eurovision Song Contest. The song is more catchy than it appears in the first half.

3. UNITETree of life

Song number three is in Philipinnes, Arabian and English and the major musical influence seems to come from the orient (which is not at all reflected in outfits). The song sounds very intersting but the voices and the harmony doesn't really fit. The performance is ok but nothing special and could be improved if this song reaches the final.

4. Amin JensenLuciano

Amin Jensen looks like an opera singer and his song has an Italian feeling (not only because of the title). The singer is accompanied by a female guitarist in a red dress. Overall a very pleasent entry but also slightly monotone despite the very good vocals.

LIVE FROM THE GREEN ROOM

We asked Anorah if she thinks that she will go to the final. She answered that she doesn't know actually since she thinks that all entries are so good.

5. Anne-Marie & Claus HassingCome on over

The debutants have just stated that they have been writing songs for this contest for years already but now they are finally taking part. Their song a Europop song as typical as it can be and they give the same impression as the duo Fame did for Sweden in the 2003 Eurovision Song Contest. Nevertheless, Anne-Marie's and Claus's has a bit more of a soul feeling at the beginning. The journalists in the hall like it and almost start to dance along. If the Grandma and the baby will help them getting votes? – We'll see…

6. Louise VictoriaGrøn mand gå

Here is the second Arabic tune of the evening, remarkably, this one is sung in Danish. Again, the music style is not reflected in the outfit of the singer who is wearing a very classy black dress. The two hip-hop dancers in the background do a good job, but nevertheless they don't really seem to fit in the overall performance. Nevertheless, one of the most interesting entries tonight.

LIVE FROM THE GREEN ROOM

We asked UNITE how much they know about the Eurovision Song Contest and they answered that they do know that there will be two semi finals and they also know that it is going to be held in Belgrade. A lot, apparently.

7. Camille & UlrikUnderneath the moon

About their song, Camille & Ulrik say that they wrote a song that could touch the heart, a 1960s tune. It's a bit melancholic but they say it's a good ballad as well. The outifts are very well chosen, the singers and the background artists look very good on stage. The couple described the song very well – so there is little left to say. They are no couple – Camille stated that her boyfriend is in the audience. The song was produced by the same man who was responsible for DQ's Drama queen last year.

8. CharlieDen jeg er

The intro of the song reminds of Denmark's entry in the 1982 Eurovision Song Contest, Video video (the singers said that too) that did not too well actually. Overall a catchy entry that is well performed by the charsimatic singer. The song was made by well-known DJ Encore from his hit I see right through you. He is also known as Andreas Hemeth and comes from the top of the US charts. He said that he takes part because he wanted to make this experience.

THE LINES ARE NOW OPEN

The feelings among the journalists are very mixed, no one is sure which four songs will make it through to the final, but the first song is one of the favourites. The lines are closed.

The four qualifiers are: Anne-Marie & Claus Hassing, Charlie, Amin Jensen and UNITE.
