Finland: Six more acts make the final

The semi-final of Uuden Musiikin Kilpailu, Finalnd’s selection process for the Eurovision Song Contest, was aired earlier this evening with the eight acts who qualified from the two heats taking to the stage for a second time.

Mikko Pohjola, MIAU, MadCraft, Hukka ja Mama, Lauri Mikkola and Clarissa & Josh Standing will join the two heat winners, Softengine and Hanna Sky in the grand final, which takes place next Saturday.

Jasmin Michela and Dennis Fagerstrom finished in the bottom two and were eliminated from the competition.

Tonight’s result was decided 100% by a public vote, but the jury vote will return for the final

Next Saturday the will see the eight finalists perform for the last time as they bid to win UMK 2014 and the right to represent Finland at the Eurovision Song Contest 2014. UMK 2014 Schedule

Finland debuted at the Eurovision Song Contest in 1961 and has won the event once in 2006 with Lordi’s Hard Rock Hallelujah, and last year they were represented by Krista Siegfrids, finishing 24th in the grand final with her entry Marry me.
