Latvia has won the 2002 ESC – or technically, Marija Naumova did. She now makes up half of the women to have composed a winning ESC song.

Some of you may remember the 1978 Israeli entry 'A ba ni bi'.
It was composed by Nurit Hirsh, who also conducted the orchestra. Tonight, women have conquered the ESC world again.

Marija Naumova is now the second female to have composed a winning ESC song. Her song 'I wanna', which she also performed, won relatively supremely, and this makes Marija Naumova the only female winning composer since 1978.
