After a huge search spanning 5 months, Israel have finally decided on their Eurovision 2018 act: Netta Barzilai!
Netta will represent Israel at the Eurovision Song Contest 2018 in Lisbon, but the song will be decided at a later date by an internal selection and will be announced by the national broadcaster.
The final saw four acts compete for the right to represent their country: Netta Barzilai, Chen Aharoni, Riki Ben Ari and Jonathan Mergui, with the first being the overall winner.
This year’s final show has taken place exactly one year after the 2017 last show of The Next Star, which crowned IMRI as its winner and the upcoming Eurovision representative.
Reminscing this unique moment for him, IMRI has posted it on his official Instagram account:
This marks the 41st Israeli Eurovision appearance, after the country’s debut in 1973. Israel will compete in the first half of the first semi-final of the Eurovision Song Contest 2018, which will take place on Tuesday 8th May 2018. Their exact position will be determined once all the competing countries have announced their songs.
