Greece: Europond band for Stockholm?

The Eurovision Greek Drama takes place around this time of the year the last decade (or even more) and even more speculations arrived today on the news desks of local media outlets. The latest rumour answers to the name Europond.

The Greek drama begun last summer when the first names that were approached by ERT representatives, were spread in rumours. Last week few details were revealed about the Greek participation, through an interview of the ERT’s general direction Dionisis Tsaknis, that the song would talk about the Crisis and the Refugees. This week begins with a revelation of a name from an unknown band from Thessaloniki, the Europond.

According to the website newsit.gr, the band is tipped to represent Greece in Stockholm Eurovision this May. The band’s formation consists of 7 members, 5 musicians, a male rapper and a girl as the leading vocalist. Their song will be written in Greek and Pontian (a Greek dialect) and the music will feature Greek, Pontian and rap/R’n’B styles. [God no rap!]
