Alsou, the Russian Eurovision Song Contest entry from 2000 has gone Italian. Yes, the Russian superstar joined forces with Ricchi e Poveri the 1978 Italian representatives at a special Christmas show aired on Channel 1 Russia.  They treated the Russian viewers with Mamma Maria, an all time Italian hit.

Ricchi e Poveri are a well known Italian group, who enjoy fame  on home soil. They represented Italy at the 1978 Eurovision Song Contest in Paris with the song Questo amore, which went on to become a massive hit.

Alsou is among Russia’s most sought after singers today. She shot to fame back in 2000 when she represented Russia at the Eurovision Song Contest in Stockholm with her entry Solo, achieving an honorable 2nd placing.  The Russian star co-hosted the 2009 Eurovision Song Contest final in Moscow with Ivan Urgant.
