To�e Proeski, FYR Macedonia's representative in the 2004 Eurovision Song Contest, who died tragically on October 16th in Croatia, has received a posthumous homage being awarded with the “Singer of the year” prize from the Croatian media agency Media Service.

After Toše's death two months and a half ago shocked his native country, FYR Macedonia, as well as other Balkan countries where the young artist enjoyed major fame, posthumous recognitions have not ceased to be made.

The latest one has arrived from Croatia, the country where Toše passed away. The media agency Media Service has awarded him with the title of Singer of the Year. The prize was received by Stojan Rumenovski, representative of the FYR Macedonian embassy in Croatia, who said: "I would like to thank the journalists and all citizens who showed endless love for Toše". He also showed his gratitude on the behalf of Toše's family and the people of FYR Macedonia.

Toše won the majority of the 200 secret votes from journalists, editors, chief editors, leader writers, and executives of the most relevant media corporations in Croatia.

This is not the first time that Toše gains recognition in Croatia. Visitors of the Croatian web portal dnevnik.hr picked him Personality of the Year with 48% of the vote.
