ERT, the Greek broadcaster, will be holding the country's national final for the 2008 Eurovision Song Contest on Wednesday 27 February. The show will be hosted by Betty and Mathilde Maggira, two popular personas of Greek television.

Greece will follow the same format as last year: three artists- Chryspa, Kalomoira Saranti and Kostas Martakis- will fight it out on 27 February. The venue has not been finalised yet, but it could be Athinon Arena, same as last year due to the hall's large capacity. The winner will be again decided by a mixture of jury vote and televote.

The show will be hosted by Betty and Mathilde Maggira, who also hosted the Thessaloniki Festival with great success. Ever since then the Greek broadcaster was in discussion with the two sisters who have accepted ERT's proposal. It is expected that the show will feature international guests as well, namely other Eurovision Song Contest 2008 participants.

Thanks to Johnny Logan and Hold me now I fell in love with the Eurovision Song Contest, a love that's been going strong ever since with undiminished passion. My first memories date back to 1977 and the lyrics of Rock bottom, Dschinghis Khan and A ba ni bi are still engraved in my brain. I joined esctoday.com in 2006 as a junior editor after being invited by Barry Viniker, I soon became Senior Editor and during the 2007 contest in Helsinki I was appointed Head of Communications. Today I hold the post of Head of Human Resources and I am proud to be working with the best editorial team in the world.
