The second annual esctoday.com awards poll closes tonight at midnight Central European Time. Already, almost 20,000 votes have been verified and accepted and in many categories, the result remains too close to call with just one day to go. Make sure that you add your votes before the polls close. Tomorrow, Monday 24th December, we will reveal in stages the winners of the 2007 esctoday.com awards.

Last year, Mihai Traistariu won the Song of the year award for Tornero, beating Carola's Invincible by a single vote. The songs finished 4th and 5th at the 2006 Eurovision Song Contest, but were successful in the awards. The awards give fans of the Eurovision Song Contest the chance to say who they think the best performers were, what the best songs were and their full opinions on the 2007 Eurovision Song Contest.

This year, the eight songs competiting to succeed Mihai are:

  1. Molitva by Marija Šerifovićof Serbia
  2. Dancing lasha tumbai by Verka Serduchka of Ukraine
  3. Song #1 by Serebro of Russia
  4. Shake it up shekerim by Kenan Doğuluof Turkey
  5. Water by Elitsa Todorova & Stoyan Yankoulov of Bulgaria
  6. Unsubstantial blues by Magdi Rúzsa of Hungary
  7. Visionary dream by Sopho of Georgia
  8. Frauen regier'n die Welt by Roger Cicero of Germany

Many categories are still incredibly close after a month of voting. In one award, four out of five nominees all have a strong chance of winning even at this late stage. Make sure that you cast your votes before midnight tonight to have your say in the second annual esctoday.com awards.
