Genealogy consists of six artists of Armenian descent, five coming from the five continents, while the sixth artist originates from Armenia itself. Together, the six members of the group symbolize the five petals plus the heart of the forget-me-not-flower. The groups members are: Essaï Altounian (France) symbolizing the European Armenian community, Tamar Kaprelian (United States) representing the American Armenian community, Mary-Jean O’Doherty Basmadjian (Australia) symbolizing the Oceanic Armenian community, Vahe Tilbian (Ethiopia) representing the African Armenian community, Stephanie Topalian (Japan) symbolizing the Asian Armenian community, and from Armenia itself Inga Arshakyan. Inga is no stranger to the Eurovision stage, as she and her sister Anush represented Armenia at the Eurovison Song Contest 2009 in Moscow, Russia, with the song Jan jan, eventually earning the tenth place in the grand final with 92 points. At the Eurovision Song Contest 2015 in Vienna, Austria, Genealogy will sing the song Face the shadow.
