Dutch singer Trijntje Oosterhuis, who will represent The Netherlands at the Eurovision Song Contest 2015 in Vienna, is working on a new album. Helping Trijntje with new material is none other than Dutch rock-star Anouk, who wrote Trijntje’s 2015 Eurovision entry Walk along, and participated herself in the Eurovision Song Contest 2013 with the song Birds.
Both Trijntje Oosterhuis and Anouk posted pictures of the work in progress on their official Facebook-pages, confirming that Trijntje is in the studio working on her new album, and that Anouk will have a part in writing and composing the songs. According to the posts on Facebook, the album will be finished soon, and will depart from Trijntjes’s usual soul-sound. Trijntje’s 2015 Eurovision-song, Walk along, will most likely feature on the new album, and may be indicative of her new sound.
Trijntje Oosterhuis and Anouk, who are close friends in their personal lives, already worked together for Trijntje’s successful 2012 album Wrecks we adore. This album also departed from Trijntje’s usual genres, uncovering a much rougher side of the artist. The album hit the number one spot in the Dutch Album Top 100 chart, and in 2013 earned her the title Best Female Singer at the Dutch Edison Awards, the most prestigious music awards of The Netherlands.
Here’s a current picture of Trijntje Oosterhuis and Anouk in the studio:
