Malta: New provisional dates for MSFE

The Malta Song for Europe 2008 shows were initially scheduled for February 21 (semifinal) and February 23rd (final). Now, and due to the General elections that will be held in the Mediterranean state, the Malta Song Board has decided to bring the show forward to January 24 (semi) and January 26 (final).

Therefore, the rest of the dates also suffer changes: the second live phase will be televised between January 9 and 12 January, when the 36 participating songs will be narrowed down to 16.

Aspokesman of the Malta Song Board stated to our partner site escmalta.com that those dates are "more then likely to be the final new dates", although there is no official confirmation yet. It is expected that this confirmation will arrive at the end of this week or at the beginning of the next one. Some details about the venue could be revealed as well.
