The third and fourth Melodifestivalen semi finalists have been announced by Swedish broadcaster, SVT this morning. The shows, taking place at Linköping and Karlskrona complete the line-up of artists presenting the jury chosen songs. Only the four wildcards remain a mistery. Highlights from today's announcement include Eurovision Song Contest winner, Charlotte Perelli, Melodifestivalen 2006 runners-up, BWO and 2005 finalists Linda Bengtzing and Nordman.

The semi finalists for the first two weeks of the show are as follows:

23rd February 2008 – Semi Final 3 – Linköping

Highlights from the third semi final include the return of BWO, the 2006 competition runners-up with a new song. The band have gone on to release three hit albums since appearing in the Melodifestivalen semi finals in 2005. Frida, who became a massive phenomenom in Sweden after one of her songs was found on MySpace and became the big summer radio and club hit, enters the comepetition for the first time. Thérèse Andersson will return to the competition for a third time, this time as a solo artist. She has twice participated as one of trio girl group, Pay-TV. Patrik Isaksson is a popular singer in Sweden whilst Ainbusk are an accomplished vocal group.

Week four of the competition features the much anticipated return of two Schlager queens. After weeks of rumours about a possible return, Charlotte Pirelli, the 1999 Eurovision Song Contest winner will compete with a returning Linda Bengtzing, who is looking to reach her third Melodifestivalen final in as many attempts. Charlotte will perform Hero whilst Linda once again performs in Swedish with the song Hur svårt kan det va? (How hard can it be?). Nordman returns to the competition after reaching the 2005 final with the song I lågornas sken.
