Zeig deine Muskeln // Wechselt die Beleuchtung

Nicola RostJohanna MarschallLarissa Pesch and Marissa Akeny are the members of the band Laing. Nicola provides the lead vocals and is supported by Johanna and Larissa. Marissa is a choreographer who joins in for stage performances and some videos, making the trio become a quartet.

The band revealed itself to the German public with a cover version of a German song from the 60s, Morgens bin ich immer müde, reworking it into an electro-pop track that would reach the second place in the 2012 Bundesvision Song Contest and which was titled Morgens immer müde.

Their debut album was published in 2013: Paradies naiv. The second record, Wechselt die Beleuchtung came out last year.

Nicola Rost writes the lyrics for the band as well as creates the ideas for performances, costumes and videos of the band. Her lyrics speak of men and women and their whims.

Laing’s charm relies on their witty lyrics and the enthusiasm that they display on stage.

The band will perform Zeig deine Muskeln and Wechselt die Beleuchtung in the German national final this year.
