Andreas Kümmert is a 28 years old singer and songwriter. He comes from Gemünden am Main, in Northern Bayern.

He has gathered a fair share of experience as a musician. When he was only 16 he founded the band Silent Cry, in which he had the roles of singer, guitarist and songwriter. He has led a solo career since 2007, and between that year and 2010 he has attained 250 performances in different places around Germany.

His debut solo album was Smilin’ in circles, released in 2010 to very good press reviews and acclaim from the fans.

In 2012 he published his second record, The mad hatters neighbour. His songs Like my daddy said and Sunrisewere in the top ten of the Amazon download charts.

His performance of Elton John’s Rocket man in the talent show The Voice in 2013 brought the jury and the public off their seats. He won the competition by a large margin and made Andreas known all over Germany. His single Simple man would reach no. 2 in the German charts in December 2013.

As he declared to eurovision.de, I am very pleased to be in the German national final! I see it as a great opportunity present my songs to a wide audience.
