Maraaya has won the right to represent Slovenia at the Eurovision Song Contest 2015 after winning the country’s national final, EMA.

The show saw eight acts given the chance to perform live on the national broadcaster RTVSLO’s TV SLO 1 channel, where two rounds of voting were held to decide the winner.

In the first round of voting, the expert jury, made up of three members, gave each song a score from one to five.

At the end of this round Maraaya and Rudi Bučar topped the vote and therefore went on to the super final.

Each of the super finalists performed for a second time, but this time it was the public who got to decide who they wanted to see represent Slovenia at the Eurovision Song Contest 2015.

Once the votes came in, Maraaya was declared the winner and will now represent the country in the contest this May with the song Here for you.

Last year, Tinkara Kovac represented Slovenia at the Eurovision Song Contest 2014. After progressing through the semi-finals, she finished 25th in the grand final with her entry Round and round.
