Domenico Protino

Let me fly

A singer/songwriter from the southwest of Italy, Domenico is an artist of international experience.  He won the prestigious Premio lunezia Italian music award in 2007 with his song W La Vita, and 2008 saw him represent Italy at the Viña del Mar International Song Festival in Chile.  Domenico was again triumphant, winning the Festival with the entry La guerra dei trent’ anni.

Domenico has released two Italian language albums, the self-titled Domenico Protino in 2008 (released via the Warner Chappell Italia label, and also recorded in Spanish) and 2013’s totally self-penned and self-produced L’album per te.  Domenico wrote Let me fly and finished it together with the London-based songwriter Sandro Nardi.  Taking inspiration from the “Building Bridges” theme of the 2015 Eurovision Song Contest, Let me fly is described by Domenico as a ‘pop song with rock and electronic colours’.

Domenico, a Eurovision fan whose earliest Contest memory is of Sweden’s Charlotte Nilsson singing Take me to your heaven in 1999, is looking forward to learning more about Moldova’s culture, language and history, as well as opening new professional doors in composing and producing.
