Stela Boţan is from Orhei, Moldova, where she was born in 1988. She studied in the Free International University of Moldova, where she majored in Foreign languages and Communication Science.

Stela participated in the Moldovan talent show Fabrica de Staruri. After this, Stela was a wanted young rock lady who got to be compared to Avril Lavigne and Kelly Clarkson. She was approached by the rock band TODO, who proposed her to become their vocalist. She joined TODO and began a series of concerts and activities of the band that included fight against AIDS in teenagers.

Stela Boţan her knowledge of languages has gotten her involved as a translator in international projects and activities such as Preservation of the cultural heritage in Moldova and Restoration of the historic towns in Moldova. She has worked as a volunteer in other projects.

Stela Boţan will attempt to represent Moldova in the Eurovision Song Contest this year with the song Save me.
