Montenegro: Željko Joksimović will compose Knez’s entry

RTCG, the Montenegrin national broadcaster has announced today that Željko Joksimović will compose the 2015 Montenegrin Eurovision entry for Knez.

Željko Joksimović who hails from Serbia has represented Serbia twice at the Eurovision Song Contest in 2004 with Lane moje (Serbia Montenegro placing 2nd) and in 2012 with Nije Ljubav Stvar  (Serbia)placing 3rd, he composed the 2006 Bosnian Eurovision entry Lejla (3rd place) and the 2008 Serbian Eurovision entry Oro (6th place). He also co-hosted the 2008 Eurovision Song Contest in Belgrade.

Last Januay RTCG, the Montenegrin national broadcaster  confirmed to ESCToday that its planning to premiere Knez’s Eurovision entry and videoclip in March.

It has now become a tradition for RTCG to officially release its Eurovision entry along with its official videoclip in March, prior to the Head of Delegations meeting.

Last October RTCG announced that Knez aka Nenad Knežević Knez as the 2015 Montenegrin Eurovision representative. A special press conference was held at the RTCT Headquarters in  Podgorica in order to officially present the 2015 Montenegrin act to the assembled media and press.

Knez is a well known artist in Montenegro and in the Balkans, having released many albums. Knez was born in Cetinje, Montenegro and has been performing since the tender age of 6. Knez enjoys fame, name and recognition in his homeland Montenegro and in the neighbouring countries: Serbia, FYR Macedonia and Croatia.

Montenegro has yet again opted  for an internal selection in order to select its 2015 Eurovision representative and entry for Vienna.

It has become tradition in Montenegro to select its Eurovision entry and act via an internal selection since 2012. Rambo Amadeus  (2012), Who See feat. Nina Zizic (2013) and Sergej Cetkovic (2014) were all selected internally.

Montenegro debuted at the Eurovision Song Contest in 2007 and is yet to win the event. The country qualified for the Eurovision final for the very first time in Copenhagen this year with Sergej Cetkovic.  Sergej Cetkovic was selected via an internal selection to represent Montenegro at the 2014 Eurovision Song Contest with his entry Moj Svijet achieving a 19th place in the grand final.

The 2015 Eurovision Song Contest is scheduled to be held on 19, 21, 23 May at the Wiener Stadthalle, in Vienna
