The show has started. As always, there is a dance and music performance at the beginning. There is a recap of the three songs that have already reached the semi final: Po-dobre by Nikolai Manolov, Lonely world by Svetozar Hristov & Magdalena Dzhanavarova and Moonlight by Mariyana.
There are videos ofmore or less famous Eurovision Song Contest performances since 2005, when Bulgaria took part for the first time:Let me try by Luminita Anghel (Romania 2005), Forogj világ by Nox (Hungary 2005), Cool Vibes by Vanilla Ninja (Switzerland 2005), My number one by Helena Paparizou (Greece 2005), I hear your heart by Cosmos (Lativia 2006), No no never by Texas Lightning (Germany 2006), Teenage life by Daz Sampson (United Kingdom 2006), Invincible by Carola (Sweden 2006), Leave me alone by Hanna Pakkarinen (Finland 2007), The worrying kind by The Ark(Sweden 2007), Frauen regier'n die Welt by Roger Cicero (Germany 2007), I love you mi vida by D'NASH (Spain 2007) andCvet ze juga by Alenka Gotar (Slovenia 2007). Most of these videos have already been shown during the first three heats which makes it obvious that BNT is running out of songs – and there are still five heats to go!
Before the songs will eventually be presented, you can enjoy an oriental dance / hip-hop performance. Now it's time for country rock! Nevertheless, this song, which is performed by one of the jury members, is not in the running for representing Bulgaria in the 2008 Eurovision Song Contest.
1. Iliyana Yordanova – Unischozhavascha ljubov
The first contestant tonight really looks like an international star. The performance seems quite professional including two background singers who create a mystical, smokey atmosphere (again with oriental influences). The vocals are ok but not flawless. The song fits well with the performance but nevertheless the mid-tempo ballad has no obvious hook and might therefore not be the best choice for the Eurovision Song Contest.
2. Mario Denev – Viarvam
Number two is a hip-hop / pop tune. The singer is dressed all in white (even the shoes are white!) and wlaks up and forth on stage clapping his hands trying to animate the audience. Overall an unspectucalar entry and another one that might not have the best chances to reach the final.
3. Christina Pipova & Ivo Naumov – Kalino mome!
Welcome to Bollywood! The song is rather unusual for the Eurovision Song Contest – at least at the begining! After one minute, Kalino mome! turns into a piano pop ballad. The performance is not too charismatic and does not reflect the international charater of the song.
4. Zhivko Ivanov – Planeta bez bydesche
Number four is a disco song which is reflected by lighting effects on stage that has turned all in blue. The casually dressed singer gives a confident and dramatic performance which is supposed to reflect thenot-so-optimistic title of his entry meaning Planet with no future.
5. Kristina & Elena Georgieva – Don't leave me
A midsummer night's dream might have been the model of the performance including the singer and the two dancers dressed as fairys. The song is a typical pop ballad.
6. Reni Zareva, Bilyana Ivanova & Ioana Hristova – Zvezdi
The three female singers present a song that could have been presented in any decade of the Eurovision Song Contest. The simple and happy tune makes it easy for the audience to sing an clap along. The dance routine is very simple and the overall performance seems no to be taken too serious by the audience.
7. Dean Dobrev (Di-Do) – Full of love
The last song of the evening is a more modern one again. It's a disco pop song, again with oriental and hip hop influences and is very monotone, especially towards the end. The background singers were classy outifts including hats while the front singer has chosen a more modern outfit.
The results of the second three heats will be revealed at the end of Nomvember.
