The Latvian national selection for the 2015 Eurovision Song Contest is about to commence tonight with 10 of the 20 selected contestants competing in heat 1 beginning on the 1 February and the last remaining 10 contestants to compete in the second heat to be held on the 8 of February.
About The Show
Four entries from each heat will be selected to move on to the semi-final on the 15 February. Only four entries will then be chosen from the semi final to be in the grand final on the 22 February.
Tonight on Heat 1 of Supernova we see the first of the ten contestants compete for four prestigious places in the semi final and get a step closer to the golden ticket to Vienna and of course the honour of representing Latvia at the 2015 Eurovision Song Contest.

There will be another heat on the 8 February and the semi-final on the 15 of February, while the final of Supernova 2015 will be held on Sunday the 22 of February, when a jury and the television audience will select the winner by a 50/50 voting mix from the four finalists.
The Supernova jury will consist of Eve Kerēvica, Kaspars Roga (member of Brainstorm, 2000 Eurovision Song Contest), Dons, and Guntars Račs. The shows will be hosted by Ketija Šēnberga and Toms Grēviņš. The semi-finals will be a combination of televoting and the expert jury will decide on the qualifiers. In the final show, the TV public will choose the winner.
The story so far
Latvia first debuted at the Eurovision Song Contest with Brainstorm in 2000 and achieved a respectable 3rd place. They won with Marie N in 2002 and help the 2003 contest in Riga. 2008 is the last time Latvia qualified for a live final.
