Airi Vipulkumar Kansar

Saatuse laul

Born in Tallinn in 1977, Airi Vipulkumar Kansar (also known as Airi Ojamets) is described as “The Country Music Queen of Estonia”. Airi has twice participated at Eurolaul (Estonia’s previous Eurovision Song Contest selection show). Her first appearance came in 2004, when I wanna stay finished in ninth place behind winners Neiokõsõ and their entry Tii. Airi returned to Eurolaul in 2005 with a song entitled Dream in a dream. Achieving a fourth place result (in a competition won by Suntribe’s Let’s get loud), the song became popular in Estonia and was translated into Lõunamaa Öö (meaning The Southern Night).

Airi’s life was to change forever in 2007 following a trip to India, where she became deeply interested in Indian culture and spiritual practices. These practices helped her to overcome personal difficulties, gaining in self-confidence along the way. Airi married her Indian husband Vipul Kansar in December 2012, and gave birth to their first child Aryan Vipulkumar Kansar in 2014.

Airi Vipulkumar Kansar will compete in the first semi-final of Eesti Laul 2015 with Saatuse laul, a song composed by Urmas Kõiv and Anneli Kõiv.

Hello my name is Daniel Doyle. I am 19 years old and I live in Rushden, United Kingdom. My first Eurovision was in 2004 where I was given permission by my parents to stay up late to watch the contest. Since then I have been a hardcore fan. The first Eurovision I went to was in 2010 and I hope to go to more in the near future.
