About the show
Hosted by Antri Kerantoni, The Eurovision Song Project, which is aired by the Cypriot national broadcaster CyBC, was first screened on the evening of Sunday 7 December 2014.
Consisting of six audition shows, two Eurochallenge shows and a Grand Final, the Eurovision Song Project, which is a new format, marks an exciting time for Cyprus fans as the country seeks their entrant for the Vienna Eurovision Song Contest 2015.
Each act will audition in front of an expert Jury made up of former Cypriot Eurovision representatives Elena Patroklou (SOS, 1991), Alex Panayi (Sti Fotia, 1995 and Nomiza, 2000 as part of Voice), Despina Olympiou (An me thimase, 2013) and the actor and media personality Tasos Tryfonos. Hoping to impress with an original song and a Eurovision classic, the acts require at least three “Yes” votes from the Jury to proceed to the Eurochallenge phase of the competition. The songs are not performed in full.
