Eteri’s greetings for ESCToday!

Eteri is a Georgian artist based in Moscow, she shot to fame in Russia thanks to her participation in the Russian version of the internationally acclaimed music competition- The Voice. She won the coaches hearts with her very own version of the world famous song Tico Tico, a song that seems easy and simple to sing but in reality is difficult to perform. Her powerful vocals and strong performances earned her great fame and name in Russia, she was among the coaches’ and Russian audience’s hot favourite in The Voice- Russia. Since then the Georgian artist has gone places, having gained much popularity both in Russia and at home in Georgia.

If somone’s up there

A total of 5 acts will battle in the 2015 Georgian national final on Wednesday 14 January in Tblisi, Georgia. The 5 potential Eurovision 2015 Georgian entries were released on 31 December on GPB 1. The Georgian public will be able to vote for their favorite song via televoting until 14 January.

Georgia debuted at the Eurovision Song Contest in 2007 with Sopho Khalvashi‘s Visionary Dream. The country is yet to win the event and their  best placing at the contest has been a 9th place in 2010 with Sopho Nizharadze‘s Shine and in 2011 with Eldrine‘s One more day.

The 2015 Eurovision Song Contest is scheduled to be held on 19, 21, 23 May at the Wiener Stadthalle, in Vienna.
