The winner of the 2014 Dansk Melodi Grand Prix will be singing in this year’s Danish national selection for the Eurovision Song Contest. And the artist’s fans will have the opportunity to win tickets to the live show.
The singer Basim earned his right to sing for Denmark in the 2014 Eurovision Song Contest by winning the country’s national selection Dansk Melodi Grand Prix. It is a tradition to have the latest winner of the Grand Prix singing in the following edition as a commemoration of that victory. Basim will therefore be performing at the Gigantium in Aalborg on 7 February.
The Danish broadcaster DR has set in motion a fresh initiative that is intended to support Basim’s appearance with the help of his fans, who will be rewarded with the chance of winning free tickets to the Danish national final and getting their pictures on screen. As Basim himself has said, it was a great experience to represent Denmark in Eurovision last year and I hope that you will help to commemorate those great moments by sharing your images.
The project
I think I have taken 100000 selfies with my fans last year, so I would like to see them, said Basim to dr.dk/grandprix.
The Danish broadcaster has taken up the wish, and they have announced that they intend to compose a photo mosaic of Basim with selfies that the fans have taken with the artist (like the one seen above). The best images will be selected to build up the collage, which will feature in the background during the performance of Basim at the 2015 Dansk Melodi Grand Prix.
How does it work?
You can be a part of this project by uploading your best picture with Basim on Instagram with the hashtag #basimania. In addition to the chance of having your photo in the mosaic, you will enter a raffle of 10×2 tickets for the Danish national selection live show that will be held on 7 February. The winners will be notified directly.
