Hersi Matmuja, who represented Albania at the 2014 Eurovision Song Contest, performed at a special concert in Lebanon over the Christmas season.
It’s been an unforgettable few weeks for the Albanian soprano singer. Over the 2014 Christmas period, Hersi Matmuja along with band of the Conservatorio di Santa Cecilia flew out to Lebanon to perform a very special Christmas concert for the Italian army based in Shiro.
The Conservatorio di Santa Cecilia instrumental band and Hersi were first escorted to Shama where they performed their first concert in Lebanon. Shortly afterwards, the band along with Hersi went over to the military base in Shiro to hold a concert for all of the soldiers, commanders, officers and colonels at the base.
Many songs were performed at the concert consisting of classical and jazz genres along with a number of Neapolitan songs to get everyone into the Christmas spirit. Everyone at the base came together to perform the Italian national anthem as the concert came to an end.
Shortly after returning to Italy, Hersi received a certificate for her achievements on her visit to the base which can be viewed below.
