The final month of the season saw a new Eurovision entry being presented almost everyday. At least 15 countries made their choice for Copenhagen in March, but as always the best was saved to last. Just before the deadline, the Austrian broadcaster ORF revealed the song that Conchita Wurst would perform.

Rise like a phoenix

Rise like a phoenix became an instant favourite and Conchita Wurst was attracting the media’s interest from that moment on.

Another big event in March was the announcement of the running order for the semi-finals and the Head of Delegations meeting.

Before April began, the Eurovision world was also excited that for the first time ever Australia would be involved in the contest. Jessica Mauboy had been chosen to sing the Australian entry A sea of flags during the interval act of the second semi-final.

Hello my name is Daniel Doyle. I am 19 years old and I live in Rushden, United Kingdom. My first Eurovision was in 2004 where I was given permission by my parents to stay up late to watch the contest. Since then I have been a hardcore fan. The first Eurovision I went to was in 2010 and I hope to go to more in the near future.
