Are you ready to hop on and hop off the Eurovision tram in Vienna next May? Special Eurovision trams will be operating next May in Vienna during the Eurovision Song Contest transporting Eurovision artists, delegates, accredited media and press, fans and visitors throughout the city.

ORF, the national broadcaster has revealed that Eurovision journalists and delegations will be able to use the Eurovision tram next May.

The Viennese tram company WIENER LINIEN – Sraßenbahnlinien will be specially painting its trams with the Eurovision theme and logo and gearing up for the special occasion in order to bring the true Eurovision spirit to the Austrian capital city.

People will be able to travel to and fro from the 2015 Eurovision Song Contest venue Wiener Stadthalle to the city centre and vice-versa, come May. The trams will be operating throuhgout the city providing easy transport for the accredited media and delegates both during the morning and night. A Eurovision route and Night Route will be operative next May.

Singers, delegations, journalists and all the accredited fans, media and persons will be provided with free public transport. Hence this will entail a few thousand people.It doesn’t make sense to hire a huge convoy of cars to transport people to the StadthalleMr Edgar Boehm, ORF’s Eurovision 2015 Executive Producer has commented.

 

 

The 2015 Eurovision Song Contest is scheduled to be held in Vienna on 19, 21 and 23 May at the Wiener Stadhalle.
