The Belarussian Junior Eurovision National final was held tonight and Alexei Zhigalkovich won both the televote and the jury vote with his song S druzyami.

Alexei Zhigalkovich, a 6th grader from Minsk, won tonight's Belarussian national final with his song S druzyami. Alexei, who is a great Dima Bilan fan, has been singing since he was 7 years old and he has participated in many international festivals with excellent results.

Tonight's show saw two of this year's Eurovision Song Contest finalists. Verka Serduchka, the Ukrainian Cinderella, and the percussion duo from Bulgaria, Elitsa Todorova and Stoyan Yankoulov performed on the Summer Ampitheatre stage in Vitebsk.

During the show it was announced that Belarus will also be bidding to host the 2009 Junior Eurovision Song Contest.
