YLE, the Finnish national broadcaster, will release the names of the acts competing in their national final during a special press conference on January 13.

The conference will be broadcast on YLE’s website, and they will also be revealing further details for UMK, their selection show for their Eurovision Song Contest entry.

The list of participants has already been chosen by YLE, as previously reported back in October. The broadcaster has also confirmed that there will be some changes to the format of the competition for next year.

Unlike in previous years, there will be no expert jury having their say on the entries – the public will make all decisions wholly.

Earlier this year, Finland was represented by the band Softengine at the Eurovision Song Contest in Copenhagen. Their 11th place in the grand final was the country’s best result since their first and only win in 2006.
