Switzerland’s Sebalter, who represented his country at the Eurovision Song Contest of 2014 with Hunter of stars, will be performing at the Swiss Awards 2014.  The ceremony will take place on Saturday 10 January 2015.

The biggest TV show in Switzerland, which is broadcast throughout the country, the Swiss Awards honours the achievements of 15 outstanding personalities.  There are five award categories: Culture, Economy, Politics, Show and Society.  Swiss TV viewers and media editors will suggest names to be honoured, and those names will then go to a distinguished jury to be considered for category inclusion.  The winners will be decided by a special academy, consisting of important names throughout Switzerland, including former recipients of the awards.  There is also a purely public vote for the accolade of Swiss of the Year, which was last won by the Grand Slam winning tennis player Stan Wawrinka.

Sebalter will be performing alongside fellow national names Bastian Baker, Nicole Bernegger, Marc Sway, Stress and Tiziana.

Ticket information for the Swiss Awards, which will take place at the Hallenstadion in Zürich, can be found here.

Born Sebastiano Paù-Lessi in 1985, Sebalter was selected to represent Switzerland at the Eurovision Song Contest of 2014, following victory at the national selection show Die Große Entscheidungsshow.  His enthusiastic entry Hunter of stars, which displayed his fiddle playing prowess, finished in 13th place at the Grand Final of the Copenhagen-staged Contest, with a total of 64 points.  This was Switzerland’s best Eurovision result since 2005, when Vanilla Ninja’s Cool vibes attained an 8th placing.
