Basim, who represented Denmark at the 2014 Eurovision Song Contest with Cliché love song, has been nominated for a domestic music award.

The music magazine GAFFA (www.gaffa.dk) has nominated Basim’s self-penned Eurovision Song Contest entry Cliché love song as Årets Danske Hit, which translates as Best Danish Hit.  Basim took to his official Facebook page to express his gratitude for the nomination, and provided information on where to vote for his song:

GAFFA is a free Danish music magazine, which has been in circulation on a monthly basis since September 1983.  GAFFA.dk was established in 1996, and all back issues of the magazine can be accessed via the website.  GAFFA magazine has also launched in Sweden (www.gaffa.se) and Norway (www.gaffa.com).

Basim represented Denmark at the Eurovision Song Contest of 2014, which was held on home turf in Copenhagen.  Having automatically qualified for the Grand Final following Emmelie de Forest’s win the previous year, Cliché love song clinched a Top 10 placing, finishing in ninth place with a total of 74 points.

Denmark’s national broadcaster DR has confirmed participation for the 2015 Eurovision Song Contest, which will be held in Vienna, Austria.  The final of Dansk Melodi Grand Prix 2015, which will determine the country’s next Eurovision entrant, will be held on 7th February in Aalborg.
