Who will follow the footsteps of Compact Disco, ByeAlex and Andras Kallay Saunders in 2015 and fly the Hungarian flag in Vienna next May.

MTVA, the Hungarian national broadcaster is working round the clock preparing for its 2015 Eurovision national selection- A Dal 2015. Last month the MTV released the rules for the 2015 Hungarian national selection inviting artists and composers to enter the competition. The deadline for submission concludes on Saturday 15 November. You can read the rules in English and download the forms for submission here.

Many artists in Hungary are interested in competing in nex year’s edition of A Dal due to the great success of Andras Kallay Saunders in Copenhagen. The 2014 Hungarian representative will not be entering the competition next year, thus taking a year’s break from the competition and concentrating on the launch of his forthcoming album.

The countdown has started… Who is to follow Kallay’s footsteps and defend the Hungarian colours in Vienna next year?

MTVA will yet again use the same mechanism it has used to select its Eurovision entry and act in the past years, A Dal, the Hungarian Eurovision national selection.

In 2014 Hungary selected its Eurovision entry and representative via a national selection. Kallay Andras Saunders won the golden ticket to Copenhagen with his entry Running, achieving an honorable 5th place in the grand final.

Hungary debuted at the Eurovision Song Contest in 1994 and is yet to win the contest. The country’s best placing in the event was achieved during its year, was a 4th place in 1994 at the Eurovision Song Contest in Dublin with Frederika Bayer’s’s Kinek Mondjam Al Vetkeimet!

The official list of participating countries competing at the 2015 Eurovision Song Contest in Vienna is expected to be released by early January.

The 2015 Eurovision Song Contest is scheduled to be held on 19, 21 and 23 May at the Wiener Stadthalle in Vienna, Austria.
