Switzerland: Jose Juan Santana and Rafael Artesero bid with Gisel de Marco

A Spanish team consisting of Jose Juan Santana and Rafael Artesero are back in action on the Eurovision scene, this time bidding with their entry in the 2015 Swiss Eurovision national selection. They are the team behind Gisel de Marco‘s bidding song Teasing You.

Jose Juan Santana is a well known name in the Eurovision community: president of OGAE Spain, a well known composer and lyricist in Spain and Eurovision ( lyricist of the 2009 Montenegrin entry Just get out of my life, lyricist of Reina de la noche-(Mision Eurovision 2007/ 2007 Spanish national final). He has participated at many Eurovision national selections throughout Europe in recent years including in his homeland Spain.

Rafael Artesero has competed in many Eurovision national selection throughout the continent and has composed many Eurovision entries in the past years: Andorra 2005 (La mirada interior) and Andorra 2006 ( Sense tu), Spain 2011 (Que me quiten lo bailao) and Belgium 2014 (Mother). He too has competed in various Eurovision national selections throughout Europe.

Gisel de Marco  is an Argentian born artist who has gained much fame and name in Switzerland recently having competed in the Swiss edition of the internationally acclaimed television show The Voice. She has tried to bid to represent Switzerland twice before: in 2013 she submitted 2 entries to the Swiss Eurovision national selection and in 2014 she competed with the 3 For All band at the 2014 Swiss Eurovision national final and achieved a 3rd place with their entry Together forever.

Gisel has come a long way since her debut years in her homeland Argentina. She started to sing at the tender age of 7 and has gained much popularity in Argentina and South America. Her ultimate dream is to represent Switzerland at the Eurovision Song Contest. She is trying to bid yet again in her quest to fly the Swiss flag at Europe’s favorite television show next year in Vienna. SRF has received many entries for its online Eurovision national selection competition. All videos are uploaded on SRF’s digital platform and viewers are invited to all listen to all the entries and vote for their favorite songs. Voting will be open from 03-17 November. A 50/50 online voting/jury deliberation will determine the 9 lucky acts that will proceed to next phase of the Swiss Eurovision national selection- the Auditions Phase. The special audiion are scheduled to be held in Zurich on 7 December.

During the 2nd Phase of the selection a total of 18 acts will audition live in front of a special jury and pannel of judges ( 9 acts selected by SRF/RTR, 3 by RSI and 6 by  RTS). After an exhaustive evaluation and deliberation the expert jury will shorlist a total of 6 candidates who will compete for the golden ticket to Austria at the 2015 Swiss Eurovision national final on 31 January in Kreuzlingen. ( 3 acts from RTR/SRF, 1 act from RSI, 2 acts from RTS).

The 2015 Swiss Eurovision entry and representative will selected via a 50/50 jury- public televoting deliberation.

Sebalter won the 2014 Swiss Eurovision national final last February and  represented Switzerland at the 2014 Eurovision Song Contest with his entry Hunters of stars. Switzerland achieving a 13th place in the grand final in Copenhagen.
