Dulce Pontes performs in Bulgaria

Dulce Pontes, Portuguese representative at the 1991 Eurovision Songcontest, will sing for the first time in Bulgaria. The concert will take place on July 11 in Sofia's National Palace of Culture.

Those attending the concert can expect the performance of many songs from her latest album "O coração tem três portas" (The heart has three doors). Dulce Pontes is a singer and songwriter who preforms "fado" songs arranged with influences from pop, folk and classical music.

This first concert at the Bulgarian capital is dedicated to the Portuguese Presidency of the European Union. Since 1 July till 31 December 2007, Portugal is responsible for leading the EU. Tickets cost 25 to 35 leva and the show starts at 8 pm.

The singer has worked with famous names such as Jose Carreras and Andrea Bocelli (opera singers), Ennio Morricone (composer) and Cesaria Évora (famous singer from Cape Verde). Her first big break-through was at the 1991 ESC in Rome where she achieved 8 th place with the song "Lusitana Paixão".

Dulce Pontes will preform next in Spain in the city of Ceuta on July 14.
