The 2014 Portuguese representative Suzy visited the Vienna few days back and she recorded a special video message for our readers from the forthcoming Eurovision host city.
Suzy flew to the majestic Austrian capital city of Vienna last weekend where she was invited to attend a special event organized by OGAE Austria. She performed and met up with her fans at the event. Suzy will also be travelling to Denmark, Koln and London in the coming months in order to perform at various Eurovision fan events.
Suzy met up with Jaqueline Boyer (France 1960 Eurovision winner) and Nadine Beiler (Austria 2011) at the OGAE Austria party.
The Portuguese singer had the opportunity to visit and sightsee in the beautiful Austrian capital too. She visited the famous Schönbrunn Palace, the former residence of the legendary Empress Sissi. Suzy has recorded a special video message from the palace specially for our readers. She welcomes everyone to Vienna, the 2015 Eurovision host city. In 2014 Portugal returned to the Eurovision Song Contest after a year’s absence with their annual Eurovision national selection- Festival Da Cancao. Suzy won the 2014 Portuguese Eurovision national final and won the right to fly the Portuguese flag in Copenhagen at the 2014 Eurovision Song Contest with her entry Quero ser tua. Despite an energetic performance Suzy failed to qualify to the grand final.
The 2015 Eurovision Song Contest is scheduled to be held on 19, 21, 23 May in Austria.
Portugal has been competing at the Eurovision Song Contest for 48 years having contributed a total of 46 entries, having missed out on participating in 1970, 2000, 2002 and 2013.
Portugal debuted at the Eurovision Song Contest in 1964 with Antonio Calvario, and is yet to win the event. Portugal’s best placing at the Eurovision Song Contest has been a 6th placing in 1996 with Lucia Moniz‘s O meu coraçao nao tem cor.
