The Eurovision fan centre located in Lasipalatsi and run by Viisukuppila.coms volunteers opened last night. esctoday.com team were present and had a talk also with Anna Muurinen, Viisukuppilas responsible and author of Eurovision Handbook. Check out our galleries that will be online later on.
The fan centre finally opened its second floor last night besides the info point in the ground floor. Several of this years’ artists came to perform and meet the very enthusiastic fans. There is more to come in coming days, for example next Monday many Finnish ex-Eurovision stars will take the stage and Romania’s Todomondo on Wednesday.
Hungary’s Magdi Rúzla was the first guest on stage. After being interviewed by the presenters and singing her song Unsubstantial blues she posed with fans, signed CDs and a friendly chat with everybody.
Dima Koldun from Belarus was next on stage causing some hysteria. First his team gave out some promotional material and he posed for photos before Dima and his two dancing girls performed Work your magic. The magic worked judging the wild crowd but like magic, it didn’t last long as he rushed to another party in the Eurovision bar Con Hombres.
Marija Serifovic appeared next with her five backing vocalists. She was interviewed before she sung Molitva and brought the house down. But better yet was to come: the backing vocalists belted out the Finnish version of the song and the crowd was totally wild. Photos with fans followed and she was gone… only to come back later to perform the dance version of the song for the first time anywhere! By now everybody was singing along and dancing with her.
Georgia’s Sopho was next on line and the audience really was getting their money’s worth, except it was all free, and she performed a couple of songs the first being of course her Visionary dream. She had a lot of fans in the audience and surely won over a few new ones.
After a wait Sabrina from Portugal finally arrived with her camera crew and performed two different versions of her entry Dança comigo and she didn’t ask the fans twice to dance with her. She was all smiles and happiness in her golden dress and got a very good response.
Just when we thought it was all over for the night a surprise guest was announced: Evridiki and Dimitris Korgialas took the stage and gave an excellent performance of Comme ci, comme ça before posing for photos with fans and signing autographs for everyone proving once again how nice she is with her fans.
The fan centre opened in the best possible way. Esctoday.com’s team congratulates Anna Muurinen and all the volunteers of Viisukuppila.com for the great job. She is very happy with the results and welcomes all of you to come over and party.
