Former Eurovision Song Contest winners Katrina and the Waves and Toto Cotugno will joining this year's Maltese hopeful Olivia Lewis, plus a whole host of other stars, in a special concert held to mark Worker's Day in Malta.

Malta's Labour Party, which is coordinating the event on May 1st, will set up three large stages in Valetta, the largest being on Pjazza Helsien. It is here that the culmination of the day's events will take place: a three-hour concert showcasing both local and European talents such as Katrina and the Waves (UK 1997) and Toto Cotugno (Italy 1990), alongside this year's hope for Malta Olivia Lewis. Scar, who competed against Olivia in this year's Maltese final, will also be present, as well as Italian artists Alessandro Canino and Alex Tamburini.

The Labour party have described the event as "a gift to the people", and entrance is free of charge to everyone. No doubt most locals are hoping that a little winners' luck might rub off on Olivia, who will fly out to Helsinki not long after Worker's Day is over!
