Ruth Lorenzo (born 10 November 1982) was born in Murcia, Spain. From singing opera to achieving lead roles in the American production of ‘Phantom of the Opera’ and ‘My Fair Lady’, music had always been part of her life since an early age. Her big success came when she took part in the British version of ‘The X-Factor’, coming 5th place in the series that ran in 2008. After her time on the reality TV series, she worked with a number of well-known artists composing songs, and toured throughout the British isles.

Flash forward to 2014 where Ruth’s new album, Planeta Azul, was announced. She was then selected by Spanish broadcaster Televisión Española (TVE) as one of the five finalists in the national selection show, Mira quién va a Eurovisión. In the final, she tied in points with her entry Dancing in the rain with Run, performed by Brequette. In the end, Ruth was declared the winner as she had obtained more of the public vote than her competition.

Ruth Lorenzo will represent Spain on the 10 May in the Grand Final of the Eurovision Song Contest with her entry Dancing in the rain.

Want to sing-a-long? Well you can! Please find below the lyrics to Amazing.

Luz, yo quiero ver luz
Poder pintar de color un nuevo amanecer
Vivir, amar,
Sentir y saber que

Hoy, puede que no salga el sol
Aunque llueva
Tú y yo sabremos bailar
Nadie nos puede parar

We’re dancing in the rain
Dancing in the rain

Life, gets you every time
Open up ,
You never know what you will find
You never know what waits inside

So, live
Like you’ll never stop
Take this chance
And give it everything you’ve got
Come on and let the rhythm drop

We’re dancing in the rain
Dancing in the rain

Keep on like it’s never ending
Keep on till the light of day
Keep on dancing in the rain
The rain, the rain

Deja caer
Deja la lluvia caer
The rain, the rain, the rain

Deja caer
Deja la lluvia caer
The rain, the rain, the rain

The Rain, the rain
Dancing
Dancing
Dancing

Dancing

Deja caer
Deja la lluvia caer

Aunque llueva y nos mojemos
No pararemos de bailar

Keep on dancing in the rain
The rain, the rain
