Roger Cicero, who represented Germany in the 2007 Eurovision Song Contest in Helsinki is releasing his new album Was immer auch kommt, which translates in English to Whatever Comes, this Friday 28 March.

This will be the first album since Cicero separated from the mother of his five year old son, and the album reflects this in a darker, more stripped back sound – the big band sound of his earlier albums had been replaced by a more simple arrangement, with the full swing band backing being replaced with just a piano and guitar – and as a result the lyrics and vocals take centre stage.

As well as the new album, he will be touring Germany in the Summer, playing Jazzfest in Gronau on 3 May, then embarking on a full tour of Germany in July and September 2014.

Roger Cicero was Germany’s entrant in the 2007 Eurovision Song Contest with his song Frauen regier’n die Welt, which translates to Women Run the World – he came 19th.
