Last year, Krista was selected to represent Finland at the 2013 Eurovision Song Contest with her song Marry me after winning the Finnish national selection Uuden Musiikin Kilpailu. At the contest, Krista caused controversy after the singer ended the Finnish performance kissing one of her female backing singers, being labelled as the first ever “lesbian kiss” to take place on stage at the Eurovision Song Contest. Despite this, Krista ended in 24th place at the grand final with a total of 13 points after qualifying from the second semi-final.
